How to Apply

1. Meet Eligibility Requirements ▾
   Ensure you meet Mississippi's eligibility criteria for CNA certification, including age, education, and criminal background requirements, as detailed in the Mississippi Nurse Aide Candidate Handbook.
2. Complete Approved Training Program ▾
   Successfully complete a state-approved Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program (NATCEP) in Mississippi. A list of approved programs may be available through the Mississippi State Department of Health.
3. Review Candidate Handbook ▾
   Download and thoroughly read the Mississippi Nurse Aide Candidate Handbook from the Prometric Mississippi Nurse Aide Portal for comprehensive instructions on the application, examination, and certification process.
4. Apply for Examination ▾
   Follow the instructions in the Candidate Handbook to submit your application for the Nurse Aide Competency Evaluation Examination through the Prometric Mississippi Nurse Aide Portal. This typically involves completing required forms and providing documentation of your training.
5. Schedule and Pass Exam ▾
   Once your application is approved, schedule and pass both the written/oral and the skills portion of the Nurse Aide Competency Evaluation Exam administered by Prometric.
6. Get Listed on Registry ▾
   Upon successful completion of both parts of the exam, Prometric will notify the Mississippi Nurse Aide Registry, and your name will be added to the registry, granting you CNA certification in Mississippi.
