Provisional Practice & Reciprocity
Kentucky does not offer a temporary or provisional license. Applicants must have passed the CDR examination prior to applying for licensure.
Kentucky allows licensure by endorsement. Applicants actively licensed in another state must provide verification of licensure and proof that they meet the same educational, supervised practice, and examination requirements (active CDR registration typically satisfies this).
If your assignment start date is within 5 weeks, apply immediately and call the board at (502) 892-4254 to confirm current processing times.
Note: Kentucky does not offer a standard provisional license, so your license must be issued before your first day.
