Provisional Practice & Reciprocity
Indiana does not offer a provisional or temporary dietitian certification. Applicants must hold active CDR registration and complete all requirements before certification is issued.
Indiana does not have a formal endorsement or reciprocity pathway. Out-of-state dietitians apply through the standard application process. Holding current CDR registration satisfies the education and examination requirements. You must still submit the application, $20 fee, transcripts, and complete the Indiana fingerprint background check.
If your assignment start date is within 5 weeks, apply immediately and call the board at (317) 234-2060 to confirm current processing times.
Note: Indiana does not offer a standard provisional license, so your license must be issued before your first day.
Renewal Requirements
Indiana dietitian licenses renew every 2 years (by dec 31, even years) + 30 ce hours. Renewal fee is $20.
