Complete an Approved Training Program

Successfully complete an Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) approved Nurse Aide Training Program.
Obtain Exam Application

Download the Indiana Nurse Aide Candidate Handbook and the Nurse Aide Competency Examination application form from the Prometric Indiana Nurse Aide Testing website.
Submit Application and Fees to Prometric

Complete the application form and submit it along with the required examination fees to Prometric. This can typically be done online through the Prometric portal or by mail.
Schedule Your Examination

Once your application is processed by Prometric, schedule your Nurse Aide Competency Examination. The exam consists of two parts: a written (or oral) portion and a skills portion.
Pass the Competency Examination

Successfully pass both the written (or oral) and skills portions of the Indiana Nurse Aide Competency Examination administered by Prometric.
Be Added to the Registry
▾
Upon successful completion of both exam parts, Prometric will automatically add your name to the Indiana Nurse Aide Registry, certifying you as a CNA in Indiana.
